Endometrial cancer (also known as uterine or corpus cancer) is a malignant tumor that originates in the tissue of the uterine lining, called the endometrium. It is the most common form of uterine cancer. Typical symptoms may include unusual vaginal bleeding, particularly after menopause, as well as pelvic pain. The exact cause is not fully understood, but factors such as hormonal changes, obesity, and diabetes can increase the risk.
Diagnosis is usually made through a biopsy, followed by imaging tests to determine the extent of the tumor. Treatment often involves a combination of surgery, radiation therapy, and/or chemotherapy, depending on the stage of cancer and other individual factors. Early detection and treatment are crucial for the prognosis of endometrial cancer.
